Oroklini and Larnaca are wonderfully family-friendly. From wildlife encounters to water adventures, there's something for every age group — and most activities are within 15 minutes of the house.
Oroklini Lake — Flamingos & Birdwatching
Just behind the village, Oroklini Lake is a protected wetland that attracts flamingos from October to May. Watching hundreds of pink flamingos wade through the shallow water is a magical experience for children and adults alike. The lake is also home to 85 migratory bird species. A walking trail runs along the edge of the lake, and it's accessible by foot from the house.
Camel Park Mazotos — 15 Minutes Away
The Camel Park in Mazotos village is a favourite with families. Children can ride camels and donkeys, swim in the park's pool, play in the adventure playground, and meet the resident animals (goats, ostriches, ponies, and more). There's a restaurant on-site, and the park runs from March to November.
Water Sports at Oroklini Beach
During summer, the beaches near the house offer kayaking, paddleboarding, and pedal boats suitable for children. The shallow, calm water at Oroklini Beach is ideal for young swimmers. For older kids and teenagers, the organised water sports centres at Mackenzie Beach offer jet ski rides, parasailing, and banana boat rides.
WOW Action Park
For rainy days or when the kids need a break from the beach, WOW Action Park in Larnaca offers indoor trampolining, climbing walls, and activity courses. It's popular with children aged 4–14 and has a cafe where parents can relax while the kids play.
Hala Sultan Tekke & Salt Lake
Near Larnaca Airport, the Hala Sultan Tekke is one of the most important Islamic sites in Cyprus — a beautiful mosque set on the shores of Larnaca Salt Lake. The lake itself is a nature reserve and, like Oroklini Lake, attracts flamingos in winter. A paved walking path circles the lake and is suitable for pushchairs and bikes.
At the House
The house itself is designed with families in mind. The shared swimming pool is steps from the front door. The private garden has space for children to play safely. Bunk beds in the second floor bedroom are perfect for siblings, and the basement has space for active games when the sun is too strong.
