Cyprus has quietly become one of Europe's most attractive destinations for remote workers and digital nomads. With over 340 days of sunshine, affordable living costs, and fast fibre internet now widely available across the island, it offers everything you need to work productively while enjoying a Mediterranean lifestyle.
Oroklini, on the southeast coast near Larnaca, is an ideal base. It's a peaceful residential village just 100 metres from the beach, yet only 15 minutes from Larnaca International Airport and the city centre. No tourist crowds, no noise — just sea, sun, and focus.
Why Cyprus Works for Remote Professionals
Cyprus sits in the GMT+2 timezone (GMT+3 in summer), making it perfectly placed for working with teams across Europe, the Middle East, and even overlapping comfortably with US East Coast mornings. English is widely spoken — it's an official language alongside Greek — so daily life is straightforward from day one.
The island is an EU member state, which means EU citizens can live and work freely. For non-EU remote workers, Cyprus offers a Digital Nomad Visa valid for up to one year, with the option to renew. The application process is straightforward and can be completed online.
Cost of living is significantly lower than Western Europe. A meal out costs 8-15 EUR, a monthly gym membership around 30-40 EUR, and groceries are fresh, local, and affordable. You'll find yourself spending less while living better.
Your Home Office by the Sea
Our Oroklini Beach House includes a dedicated home office with 4 workstations, fast WiFi, and natural light with a sea view. Whether you're on video calls, coding, or writing, you have a proper workspace — not a kitchen table compromise.
The house is a 3-level townhouse sleeping 7-8 guests, with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a home gym with weights and a punching bag, and a private garden with fruit trees. Everything is all-inclusive: utilities, WiFi, air conditioning, weekly cleaning, pool and garden maintenance, linens, and even airport transfers on arrival and departure.
After work, you're 100 metres from the beach. The shared pool is steps away. Restaurants, a supermarket, and Cafe Nero are a 3-minute walk. Larnaca's Finikoudes promenade is 15 minutes by car for evening dining and nightlife.
The Oroklini Lifestyle
Mornings start with coffee on the terrace or a swim in the pool. Work through the day from the home office, then walk to the beach for a sunset dip. Evenings might mean a BBQ on the private terrace, dinner at Regatta All Day (3 minutes away), or a drive to Larnaca for seafood on the promenade.
Weekends open up the whole island. Ayia Napa's beaches are 45 minutes away. Nicosia, the world's last divided capital, is 50 minutes. Limassol's marina and wine villages are 90 minutes. Even Paphos and the Troodos mountains are doable as day trips.
